The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has setup its own Intranet with connectivity to all of its circle offices. The Network model is based on 3-tier architecture. Banks and Service centers will be accessing the centralized Database Server, and the Web Servers, which are located at GHMC. The four Zonal Offices (North, East, West, South) and eSeva centers located in twin cities are connected to the Head Office network through Leased Line. The GHMC has also realised the importance of data security and has taken the professional services to design its own Security policy. This is also unique to any Govt. organization. High-end security measures are followed in all stages of transactions. Limited access has been given to the authorized users only. The Internet cloud has to pass through a "Firewall" to gain access to the Database.The hub of all these activities is the Information Technology Department where the servers of various configurations and applications are hosted.The IT Department is equipped with top-of-the-line hardware for the centralization of databases and other issues like security and performance.
